FDJ (Desert Psychlist) One i missed from last year recently brought to my attention by a fellow Bandcamper.
This has a NWOBHM meets doom meets gothic metal vibe that musically references everyone from Angel Witch through to Killing Joke. Favorite track: Drink of the Blade.

bcb723 Such a fun record. Love the melodies, vocals and production elements on "Polluted Temples." Some of my friends have mentioned the affected vocals which could be a take it or leave it situation. Not for me - Dark Meditation checks all the right boxes, but kind of think musically like Tribulation but with more gothy, distant vocals and 80s Sunset Strip leads & choruses. Kept coming back to this one again and again before deciding to grab that red/black vinyl. In a word, awesome. Favorite track: Strange Caress (of the night).

Singed Minge This album feels really cohesive in both flow and vibe. A thoroughly enjoyable listen! I wish Drink of the Blade was longer! Nocturnal Forever sticks out in a bad way for me; so I've axed that one for car rides. Cool artwork that would work well on a 12" picture disc I'd buy....just sayin' ;) Favorite track: Drink of the Blade.

Blood money for the vampire Oath on a serpents cross See danger in your eyes Come join the lost Hey Babylon so unreal Die Babylon how's it feel? Young ones you will wonder In cities of dust Come beg the whip now For love money lust Hey Babalon so unreal Die Babalon how's it feel? Stay silent in the golden hour (Babylon Money Magic) Highrises and plays of power (Babylon Money Magic) For a chance to spin the wheel (Babylon Money Magic) Kiss the ring and seal the deal (Babylon Money Magic) Babalon Money Magic So unreal

Blood money for the vampire Oath on a serpents cross See danger in your eyes Come join the lost Hey Babalon, so unreal Die Babalon, how's it feel? Young ones you will wonder In gleaming cities of dust Come beg the whip now For love money lust Stay silent in the golden hour (Babalon, Money, Magick) High rises and plays of power For a chance to spin the wheel Kiss the ring and seal the deal Babalon.Money.Magick So unreal
3.
Into the blackest night I fall again Drowned in shadow the wage of sin You walk among us and slither in Never knowing your second skin Behold the devil And he appears Master of Mind In the haunt of fear Haunt of Fear My brother vulture spread your wings A kin with carrion and the dead things Wayward children where have you gone? Worship self your great beyond Love void mother a sweet embrace Stand your ground with lords of waste All Hail new Hells
4.
Heaven awaits, awaits in black Look in my eyes with blood wasted breath Stars below they call on me Through space and time calling on our destiny Strange caress of the night Call on the dying light Strange caress of the night A hunger grows inside In the night Eternal life bravely I go Can you hear the bell begin to toll Burning hearts still but alive Pull the spear out from my side Pale light Illuminates as dusk beings to fade Avalon I can see beloved of the beast The hounds below they bay and moan Cry out carry me home
5.
Masters Coil 04:38
In my masters coil I await her call In my masters coil I fear nothing at all Say you love me in the night Black leather and stains of sin Say you love me in the night Into your web I dance again Alight the flame A life remade Break, will we break? Or stay entwined like snakes Say you love me come twilight When our fortunes wain and fail Say you love me come twilight Today and beyond the veil Unmother, under salvation's whip Together, forever in your grip Creatures crawl are we one of the them? Like a beast with two backs writhing within Masters coil await her call Masters coil fear nothing at all
6.
A child we wait for him A child let the day begin Every night I fall, I’m falling, keep falling Everyday I dream Every night I fall, I’m falling, keep falling Awake with a scream Cry for a voice You’ll never hear Reach for a touch No longer there Desolation days That we all live Desolation days Nothing left to give With a blessed hand Will you comfort me? Offer songs of praise and joy As we all bleed Come reap and be free Come reap and dance with me
7.
When the left hand speaks wars are won From the mouths of madness the last days come Behind the door the shadows crawl On the 31st floor the veil will fall The howling wild Comes alive devil's child The howling wild Into nights burning fire On a headless horse we will ride Through starless nights we arise As the heavens fade away Burn down the doors throw down the reigns White light to take us all Can you hear the call? Of no gods in the grave Only our fires remain
8.
Beware the deceivers moon A taste ash will consume Cursed with gifts of thought Unholy rot Speak serpent tongue Rise from the grave Dance to the devil's drum Will you drink of the blade? Slowly announcing the end For the lost and the damned Pray thee illusion will stay Carried on to the grave Oh man oh death My brother my flesh Hands of iron A mouth of gold All fumes bloom Under the moon Speak in tongues For crucified sons We praise the day You drink of the blade
9.
Restless I wait, for the last days dawn The shift of my eyes, betrays what I’ve become By swinging rope or hateful hand When the light fades I’ll fall again Nocturnal forever Born far below Into the nether I let my blood flow, worn as a crown My fever breaks, as the day drowns Call to the lost, blinded we see The final gasp, grieve then believe Nocturnal Forever
10.
Do you fear the chain? Can you feel the heat? Hot lust rises In the dying streets Burning bodies in the dark Polluted temples in our hearts Here are grey skies And fields of flame A dull spirit Obscures the pain Burning bodies In the dark Polluted temples in our hearts We wait hand in hand Waiting for the wasteland There's no vision Only inward eyes Calling life lovers As the world dies

about

10 tracks of Dark Heavy Metal. 'Polluted Temples' encompasses the fury of early Black Metal, the gloomy atmospherics of Death Rock combined with Sunset Strip swagger; creating an album wholly it's own.

"Killer Seattle combo rife with some Venom stomp, storming riffs and some lofty/heavy/dark vibes from singer A.D. Vick. Definitely smatterings of British Steel and Hollywood sleaze, even blasts of black metal all boiled down here into a fine presentation..." — Gimme Metal

"These Seattle-area rockers combine gothic rock, mid-tempo classic metal, and horror punk tropes to significant effect. Loves of Danzig and Christian Death may find as much to love here as contemporary lovers of Tribulation and In Solitude." — Consequence of Sound

"Here, mid-tempo hymns are born from occult heavy metal in the vein of Danzig or Mercyful Fate, then sprinkled with Killing Joke’s post-punk gravity, goth rock vibes, and the occasional synth highlight. Taken together, it makes for an intoxicating listen." — Pop Matters

“It pounds the pulse, drives the head, and the soloing will make you want to hoist those invisible oranges toward the rooftops. Great vocals too, with enough grittiness and extravagant demonic flare to avoid running afoul of the ‘rule’ in our site’s title.” — No Clean Singing

"This is a band that’s confident in the path it’s following, and it isn’t a well-worn one. Polluted Temples actually gives us hope that 2022 has some upside beyond, “at least it’s not 2021.” — Decibel Magazine

"Expect killer melodic riffs with socially-conscious lyrics and some serious creepy vibes." — Metal Sucks
